Welcome to the Journey

There are moments in life when we struggle with tough circumstances or even lose hope. There also are moments when we are taking new steps, being vulnerable and brave. We need encouragement to give us hope to get through them. Encouragement allows you to move from “I can’t” to “I can” and even “I will.”

It is a great privilege for me to write the foreword to this monumental book The Brave Encourager for two main reasons. Firstly, Heidi is a dear friend of ours, and one of our ministry leaders who leads with such grace, integrity, passion, and honor. Secondly, the topic of encouragement is so vital to all of us on a personal and on a global scale too.

I believe that encouraging words, globally is a scarce commodity. In today’s world, we do not know much about encouragement. It is not talked about a lot and even less modeled. What has been modeled to us growing up is that we must perform well to be loved well, then we deserve to be encouraged. But what if that is completely backward from the way that God intended.

In fact, God loves us, believes in us, and encourages us way before we do anything well. In the Bible, it says that God knew us even before we were formed in our mother’s womb. That each person started out as a special design and concept in God’s heart. He has a unique destiny for everyone to fulfill. (Jer 1:5) We all have something so unique, and valuable that is worthy of encouragement even before we do anything right or well.

When we can speak these words of encouragement out loud to others it actually has the power to help that person become all that they were created to be. It’s like living, breathing fuel to help them continue and fulfill their special journey of life.

In this book, Heidi will help you become a Brave Encourager. You will better understand what encouragement is and isn’t. How to get past personal roadblocks and experience more freedom and joy. You will go deep into learning God’s heart for yourself and for others. You will see how to not keep encouragement silent but rather how to share these powerful words of life with others.

The world is waiting for you to become a Brave Encourager. So lets’s go and change the world with one encouraging word at a time!
